Erzsébet Gaál is a Hungarian harpist and a Kodály pedagogue with professional interest in new teaching methods in harp. Dr. Gaál’s teaching is based on her love for music and harp playing and her desire to pass this love on to future generations. As a Kodály instructor, she emphasizes the equal development of four areas: a well-trained ear, well-trained intellect, well-trained heart, and a well-trained hand. All of these are necessary for developing a well-rounded harpist.

In private teaching studio, Dr. Gaál synthesizes all of her knowledge into one whole unit from which she extracts innovative ideas and methods of presenting knowledge and information in an ever-joyful learning situation.

She has also had experience as the facilitator for an Indiana University-Hungary Distance Learning Video Conference. This technology, an interactive satellite link-up, overcomes the separation of time and place in teaching.
